DAVID Bolton stepped up when his team needed him most to ensure Kooringal Colts’ premiership dream isn’t over yet.
Bolton dominated with both bat and ball and the Colts eased to a 122-run win over Wagga RSL at Wagga Cricket Ground this weekend.
Winning the toss and batting, Bolton was a pillar of strength at the top of the innings.
He made 62 before succumbing to Tim Cameron, but set a good platform for his teammates.
Andrew Dutton (29), Keenan Hanigan (21), Brendan O’Reilly (22) and Nick Perryman(29) then chipped in down the batting order as the Colts reversed their poor form with the bat.
Captain Haniganwas pleased to see his team reverse their form as an ordinary month, with Bolton at the helm.
“Dave batted exceptionally well and got us off to a good start,”Hanigansaid.
“It was good to see someone makea big score and everyone chip in around him.”
Bolton then impressed with the ball, taking five wickets as Wagga RSL were dismissed for 85.
It reverses a run of outs for Bolton and the Colts as well.
“He’s just a class player and everything he does is just so professional,” Hanigan said.
“He’s a great player to have in your team.”
