The wash-up resulted in Goulburn securing the minor premiership and top spot with 138 competition points.

Wingello skipper Grant Pike said his side had given itself a “good chance” of making the finals.

“We had to win and we did that,” he said.

“We might have scraped in, but we will have to wait and see if we’re in the finals.”

The side took top spot with 120 points from East Bowral (109).

Robertson/Burrawang (98) finished third and Wingello (93) fourth.
